EDC was incorporated in the District of Columbia on September 18, 2017. As the charitable arm of The KBEC Group, Inc., EDC builds on a shared commitment to community-based support and helping people work toward greater stability, independence, and quality of life.
EDC works with KBEC leadership and community partners to connect charitable giving, volunteers, and resources with programs serving residents, including people experiencing housing or employment challenges and people with disabilities.

EDC connects Washington, DC residents, businesses, congregations, schools, and civic institutions to empower, elevate, enlighten, educate, and enrich the lives of vulnerable residents. Through fundraising, strategic partnerships, and volunteer mobilization, we help build the relationships and resources that support local shelters, youth, people with disabilities, and other community programs.

KBEC Group, Inc. is a human services agency founded in 2009. EDC works closely with KBEC leadership, helping connect community giving, partnerships, and volunteers with identified program needs.
